however, rather than be energizing to the point where excess can leak into "real" life, it becomes a new baseline. thoughts that don't get this "approval" make u feel terrible, there's constant anxiety to "perform"

many addicted to painkillers eat tons of pills not because it gives them a massive high but b/c that's the only way they can feel "normal" because the initial highs have moved their baseline far above normal
