a police dog is vastly different than a civilian dog because civilian dogs r conditioned to see all hoomans as higher status across the species while police and military dogs are trained to ATTAC hoomans on command

crossing this “threshold” is a binary event that creates an entirely different type of resulting worldview. similar to how killing others as a soldier or policeman produces a permanently new mental state

other kinds of mental states are similarly irreversible bc they ratchet forwards by destroying boundaries rather than pass through them an entrepreneur for e.g. has difficulty holding down a regular job
