it is difficult to discuss the problem of slavery in a culture of "live free or DIEEE" b/c by definition, those who have the problem ought to no longer be around to complain around it, having either exited to different system or to valhalla

whether or not the contract persists for future generations is also a difficult problem given the death clause, by definition the slavery was *the* critical contributor to the aliveness of the latter generations of the original slave
