"leverage" isn't magical free money to gamble with. some asset is used as collateral banks using leverage is "evil" because their "assets" are all the houses in the neighborhood per the willingly signed contracts by everyone

"leverage" in the psychological sense means to hold nothing back. to be "all in" and reject diversity in that sense, buying something "safe" like index funds is a kind of leverage b/c "in the long run it'll always go up so put all your money in one"
