one of the reasons the status quo loves stability is that the more you can predict into the future the greater the present value of the assets if u KNEW apple or tesla would be around forever, it’s present value could account for that and become infinite

also, given even sth like guaranteed 1% returns forever, you can x1000000 leverage to make infinite money a perfectly efficient system is no different than an explosion. a boundary of the unknown and dealing with risk are the control rods that keep the reaction under control
