a liquidity squeeze is like a body that has such consistently high insulin that all food directly goes into fat, disabling the ability to convert fat into energy. there is constant hunger b/c the cells need energy despite the nominal surplus of fat stores

high insulin corresponds to lack of psychological safety discouraging spending, lowering velocity of money, and increasing savings and speculation. all wealth is “fake wealth” just like fat is fake energy if it cannot be converted into atp by lowering insulin

a squeeze can also be caused by excess activity & massive muscle build-up. this “infrastructure” investment increases base metabolism and cost of upkeep. the stored energy in the form of protein is very painful to access because the body consumes protein only as a last resort
