they both miss the point that it's not the Thing that matters but how that Thing is related to the Other Things by hyperfocusing on the Thing they miss the the relationships (built over a long time) that matter much more

maybe the blind copying of popular products that big tech companies do is the egoic equivalent of "yeah, i could be successful at that if i really wanted to" which is the big co equivalent of "i could write twitter/fb/etc.. in a day"
