what makes self proposed identities so tiring is the desire for the same social bolstering that allows one to simply be without having to consciously exert effort

maybe u want to be identified as Beautiful without having to constantly care about makeup and diet maybe u want to be identified as Worthy without constantly having to make more and more money

sometimes it can get confusing. maybe u want to be identified as a girl without constantly having to hide your penis

the desire to tell society to tell you who you are can lead to self mutilation as an act of defiant control. either through starving yourself or mutilating yourself in some other form
