ever notice how cats don’t really get angry in the sense of blindly lashing out in the tunnel vision of extreme emotion the response to any excess stimulus, good or bad, is to attac it with claws

bc the attac comes prior to the emotional response, the emotion as trigger is unnecessary so the emotion itself becomes unnecessary

the emotion as trigger is a social “buffer” where the action is intentionally delayed. e.g. if someone insults you but then it turns out to be a joke, the teasing actually builds the relationship

the more the action domain relies on instant reaction, the less “social” it is. e.g. war, video games, finance, hunting, sports, etc... even a game like chess is like this bc it slows down time of an instant reaction domain

? those domains are incredibly social, except maybe modern hunting (primitive hunting was done as a group) and some video games

"social" in a sense that the goals are instrumental and not about building relationships. e.g. women tend not to be interested in these
