this plays out even at a micro level. e.g. in high school where a girl tests a guy if he can take a no. maybe even using the high-vol winning/losing dynamics of competitive football as a proxy

the trick is to watch for if someone is trying to achieve CERTAINTY vs trying to increase CLARITY

e.g. if the security hire claims 100% intrusion mitigation or the engineer hire thinks 100% unit test coverage will solve all problems then don’t hire them
