a lot of times thinking u’ve transcended a domain just traps u further in it

e.g. those w a lonely childhood or highschool experience often try to create a sense of being socially valued in an adult domain. instead of being good at sports and good looking it’s being insightful at psychology or philosophy

those who encounter a feeling of being trapped or irrelevancy at work try to create a feeling of power/influence through free agency.

so even though the CONTENT and perspective arises out of being an outsider, the actual CONFLICT is not transcended the former is still stuck desiring recognition and validation and the latter is still stuck desiring power and influence
