a common way of changing needs is just to move to a different country if possible. some skills like programming are very transferrable into another link system if u only have bureaucratic knowhow however, in another country your only valued service may be avocado picking

in additional to adjusting source-target transformations it’s also good to reel in your wealth storage so that there are fewer links

e.g. if the stock you own has a price not based on fundamentals but on expectations on the expectations on the expectation on the expectations on the.... then u will want to transform that into sth with less links bc it will be less affected by the incoming slack wave

notice how it’s the NUMBER and magnitude of expectations/links in the middle that matter the philosophy of what you hold doesn’t matter!

e.g. bitcoin is philosophically a safe haven against inflation but if the current price is based on expectations to sell to someone with expectations to sell to someone with expectations etc... then it will not ACT like one

if the actions and the resulting market price do not actually match the philosophy, then no amount of philosophizing will actually change the expression of action think of intellectual-but-idiot exclaiming “b b b but my Model!”

so, to get a sense of how to transform your assets in the event of a disaster you can ask "if i were escaping to another country, what would i bring with me?" the stuff you'd eject is the stuff w/ more expectations
