the desire to have or already having had children usually leads to one one these stances: 1/ climate change can be “won” 2/ climate change is overblown otherwise life is too painful to bear
if there is a belief in individualism and suspicion of mass movements, only (2) is possible. thus extreme denial of any need to change at all

ironically they tend to create shadow effects of the other group: the desire for tech and connectedness creates the social media that long term creates alienation & isolation the desire for individual sovereignty/agency leads to joining conspiracy & kinda-nazi groups

ingroup conflicts also often occur when a new member proposes new ideas that r thought in line with the groups values but rejected by a heavy fisted elder figure trying to maintain leace same energy
