*this* i suspect why there is such hatred for individuals like peterson. he is interpreted as taking the moral high ground saying “it’s easy, just clean your room and don’t complain” for someone in real pain they understandably want to lash out at this preaching

and this becomes a problem because to hate peterson hates his entire body of work. once the decision to hate is made the brain will reject EVERYTHING he says even if it would’ve felt “right” if it was heard prior to the hate decision

the thing is... people ARE born to privilege and because of that they DO have real advantages in just overall being a better person

what makes this feel unfair is that it is also CORRELATED with race. so if u grow up in a family that doesn’t understand correlation it will feel like systemic oppression

even though many (but definitely not all) in positions of privilege are not blind and ignorant to their privilege. they literally try to help for free by giving advice (which is necessarily hamfisted bc they were born to privilege and don’t have everyone’s perspective)

it’s also not unreasonable for them to try to perpetuate their advantage. it was a gift from their parents after all. to try to equalize this kind of privilege attacks the very idea of making a better future for the children destroy this idea, and NOBODY has a future

from a religious pov, the stance of hatred for the moral high ground is dangerous because God stands at the highest of moralities. to hate the preacher logically leads to hating God the MOST

so while the stance of SKEPTICISM is good because it allows for more useful extraction from metaphorical stories and true integration with your own life (as well as protection against numerous “false gods”) the stance of ANGER will just lead u to hell
