there is a parallel in religious domains. roughly divided into those who believe that God can be approached or is always already with you, vs those that God is far behind rituals, bishops, ornamentation, cathedrals, etc... and that you must prove “worthiness” first

even if the tree is dropping seeds day by day, the worshipping dog doesn’t know what to do with them. it just keeps worshipping and guarding the tree. pulling up the saplings that are the growing trees as weeds
