this is y the top 1% dislike being taxed. they see themselves as building infrastructure FOR society and thus deserve a subsidy from society in the form of less taxes

they are often right in that the existing quality of life differential is not sustainable for the whole planet AND also often naive and hypocritical in that they often live like kings relative to who they compare themselves too even if they are not “elite”

so taxation is just “do X instead of Y” e.g. build this public park instead of funneling your excess funds into your family equity bc what’s the point of being rich in a world with no parks!
