it seems useful to think of taxation not as theft but as crystallizing dynamic activity into static infrastructure it’s just that infrastructure that doesn’t benefit you IS theft
also because they already pay 40% of all taxes https://www.dailysignal.com/wp-content/uploads/FBIP-SOCIAL-04.jpg …

the biggest argument imo against this is that the infrastructure they build (companies mostly) are “corrupt”. they commoditize life into coglike machines while also destroying the planet or somethinf

however this is the cost of maintaining the quality of life gap between a rich developed country and a poor developing one. “someone HAS to be manager and it may as well be ME”

e.g. government policy is stuck between falling even further behind china bc it can’t mobilize its populace to do Economy Stuff and losing the support of its populace thus disabling the very ability to govern! (since a democracy requires popular support)

it’s like when a king has to spent 100% of energy from keeping the kingdom from falling apart and has no energy left for growth, evolution, or defense against outsiders. it has to go full turtle mode until it has excess capacity to deal with reality

the problem is that being a turtle doesn’t necessarily protect you. it’s a temporary “headphones on” mode to focus and fix a problem but stay in that state too long and you’re a sitting duckhttps://www.sulzer.com/en/shared/about-us/when-tortoises-fall-from-the-sky …

this is why a wealth gap that is too large creates political instability.

when a large portion of the population basically lives like they are in a developing poor country, they have no incentive to help maintain the status quo since the status quo IS about maintaining a quality of life differential. a differential that doesn’t exist for them.

they can support “reduce carbon footprint to that of a somalian villager!” because their own carbon footprint is similar
Show this thread -
they are often right in that the existing quality of life differential is not sustainable for the whole planet AND also often naive and hypocritical in that they often live like kings relative to who they compare themselves too even if they are not “elite”

so taxation is just “do X instead of Y” e.g. build this public park instead of funneling your excess funds into your family equity bc what’s the point of being rich in a world with no parks!
Show this thread -
and if the reply is “NO i will not support the park i will yolo into dogecoin” then ask urself. what is the attention that REALLY should be re-allocated? what money stream is stupid and SHOULD be taxed?
