a company with employees is just a way of transmuting “need to prove myself” energy into “solving real world problems” energy where it gets weird is when the employees r all like “prove myself by solving real world problems”

they sorta imagine themselves as risk taking entrepreneur but are still stuck in the special snowflake mentality of new grads. they think risk taking is some sort of glorious honorable endeavor when it’s mostly getting slapped in the face by reality over and over again

the resulting thick skin and pragmatism makes them seem like clods to the snowflakes but only because the purity of idealism exists in the eden maintained and guarded (violently) by the pragmatists
