it's not that there's magical future predicting info in your shadow behavior. it's that there's a whole industry that's setup to harvest mob behavior and doing the opposite of the mob harvests the mob's momentum

isn't it weird that "i always buy high and sell low" is a meme? it seems awfully consistent meaning that they can just do the opposite of what they want to do and they'd come out ahead

in a sense this provides a lot of value to individualistic societies because it punishes mob behavior financially (whether or not extreme dog-eat-dog individualism is a good thing vs the brotherhood of socialist cultures is a different debate)
