bubble collapse & cult implosion seem very similar. they take over the public(your) mental space and create the illusion that market activity meaningfully reflects reality. however once they can no longer ingest new members, the credit dries up and prices fall

they probably ARE the same bc behind every secular frenzy there is a corresponding quasi-spiritual-social-meme-virus that exploded outwards from a single point similar to how cult-leader charisma cascades downwards. (e.g. roaring_kitty for gme)

while the ponzi mechanism for money-products like mlm's are well known, why do social realities also implode? can't they just live as a self-sufficient community/family?

the difference seems to be that cult hierarchies promise upward movement closer to the "sun". e.g. if you join as a "poor victim" and the existing members are the "brave saviors" then to become a savior yourself you need a new victim. otherwise you are stuck in the victim role

this is different than a family/community which is also hierarchical because you don't strive to replace the mother/father/elder, nor do you fight with your siblings to see who is loved more (in a healthy family)
