it's similar to learning some physics and watching say a transformers or marvel movie. you don't suddenly shout "NO! THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE. THIS IS FAKE. EVERYONE LEAVE!!" in the middle of the theater. nor do you wail in despair "NOOOO, I CANNOT ENJOY THIS MOVIE ANYMORE!!!"
it's a far more subtle "lol that's not how it *really* is but it's trivial to suspend my disbelief to enjoy what is being presented here." the only difference is that ignorance is now suspended disbelief. there's a switch from passive to ACTIVE
while its easy for a movie, it's more difficult for something like realizing your parents are imperfect or were together & had you for selfish reasons
because the act of suspending disbelief is so difficult, the minor insight is ignored in order to seek a stronger flavored insight to "wash" away the pain instead of improving the ACTIVE component a New World is sought in which the individual can remain PASSIVE
e.g. "Finding the One" is actively looking for final state of passivity where everything is perfect, the where wood chops itself and the water carries itself. vs "Being the One" which requires the daily drudgery of axe & bucket.
