self help books that are like "you need to WANT it!" are stupid *the* problem is lack of desire. and that can't be solved by desiring desire. or desiring the desire to desire. etc...

the hooman brain, special snowflake that it is, would much rather reduce predictive error than actually serve the hooman body it will automatically infect the host with depression so that this internalized mental model becomes true 'oh i don't desire b/c i'm broken, make sense'

this is b/c the hooman brain is a toxoplasma variant that split off from the main body thousands of years ago we chose attributes that made sense at the time (agility, lack of brittle dominance hierarchies, immunity to existential crisis', mandatory keto diet, etc...)

the mimetic nature of the thumby two-legs thus became advantage as it could ape in the virtuous direction of their hierarchies of value. previously the aping had a tendency to create incestuous positive feedback loops that disconnected from reality i guess worse IS better...
