the identity has unfortunately been co-opted. from what i hear the original self described rationalists were more concerned with the limits of rationality, constantly riding the cutting edge of being "less wrong" it then morphed to "being less wrong is the The Way to be right"

it's always amusing to think of the OG rationalists, and how their mode of thinking was "what if a demon lies to me through my senses and I am caught in the matrix, how can I reason my way towards being sure reality exists?" things went downhill from there
