using a credit card to pay back a credit card is actually a eureka moment where you discover a hack for infinite money for credit cards this is “lol dumb” bc of cultural wisdom but for many other domains this eureka false-insight is still accepted as genuine

e.g. with bi-polar depression you can “borrow” from the future by projecting a heroic image to motivate you. if that pops, you can project an even more heroic redemption arc. this creates cycles of booms and busts.

if the borrowed psychic energy reaches a critical mass where it can no longer be maintained, then the image “pops” into a full blown depression rather than a recession
