it is interesting to note that those at the cutting edge of a domain often first name the act of expanding that domain, but are then supplanted by those who ossify that domain by being overly zealous with regards to the domain
it’s also a somewhat hated and undesired place to be. there’s both the “The Hottest Places in Hell Are Reserved for Those Who in a Period of Moral Crisis Maintain Their Neutrality”

as well as how being between two domains means that you are actively dissolving and destroying the old domains to create some sort of new primordial soup that creates something new.
