what if the common discipline -> action spiel is entirely backwards. instead of mustering discipline for action it would be better to do the actions that increase discipline

there’s a similar parallel to worship. instead of shouting “I DECLARE DISCIPLINE-SHIP” one must actively do increasing harder things until one becomes a discipline.

which isn’t possible. it’s like attaining perfect humility and shouting “i am the most humble!!” humility is a process not a state

if u observe the discipline gurus (often they have military backgrounds) u’ll notice that the advice is aimed at becoming a god rather than increased skillfulness towards god in everyday life.

this is the *correct* direction to aim towards if u r veering too much to the easy-hacks-instant-success path but it’s not the end goal. u don’t fix the problem of leaning too much to the left by falling to your right.

the issue with trying to become god is that the hooman body with its mimetic brain and ten stubby toes simply cannot ascend to such heights of divinity

at most they can promise to “bring the light”. they create personal kingdoms in which they are effectively god as long as the borders are secure.

through masochism they live a personal hell and enjoy it. but in the process they become disconnected from the joy of life. their life necessitates those who live in fear so that they can protect and guard them. only the King’s bunker has room for a flower garden.
