there are methods of dealing with frustration. one is actually dealing with it. the other is to lower present expectations for higher future expectations this latter method is known as “debt” and is necessary in training hooma.. er.. dogs b/c their lives r suffering

let’s say i’m trying to learn piano but am frustrated, and procrastinating demotivated. one way to get last this blocker is to just one a smaller chunk. e.g. press one key. this is a kind of debt b/c i now have progress and expectations of heroic playing in the future

this future heroic vision of self is what allows self in the present to chunk difficult things into bite sized pieces

debt is necessary for progress in anything that you cannot swallow in one bite like an evil snek.

but its weakness is that you can crash. if your heroic vision of self becomes too out of hand, the entire vision pops and collapses and enter a depressive spiral. you psychological credit score is too low and ur brain won’t allow you to project heroic visions anymore

this shifts your goal from achievement to redemption this is a NASTY place to be psychologically is you don’t believe in the possibility of redemption (e.g. absent or dead God)
