My parents were always very relieved when they found out I was hanging out with Asians, and told me not to hang out with white or black people (they had no way of enforcing this, there was an ocean between us).
not sure if this is offensive or a compliment but every time i feel unsafe somewhere new and see a lot of asians i sigh with relief “thank god, i’m physically safe, the most that’ll happen is i get scammed or pickpocketed or sth else non violent”

Meanwhile, back in the old country, Asians were more threatening with knives and rocks than the local equivalent were with handguns in Texas.
