this imo is the “real” issue behind “down with the patriarchy” and is heavily related to religion and God.

this is b/c the presence of a virtuous God/King/Emperor makes submission a virtue. each of these ideas however eventually “died” leaving the individual alone

this creates an anxious situation where personal dominance within a hierarchy of value is the only virtue. submission is losing when everyone wants to be King.

kings and emperors fell b/c they lose their Perfect Virtue. God seemed immune to this loss but remained silent while the priests fell and so died as well.

the loss of the ability to subsume all hierarchies of value into an Ultimate Meta Ultra Hierarchy of Value creates a situation where both men and women are losers.

for men, it kicked off a dominance arms race where you had to be alpha at making money, physical fitness, philosophy, music, art, math, business etc... basically EVERYTHING in order to feel Good Enough

it mostly collapses into a desire for money though since money is potential and allows one to dream of being everything else. though it ultimately never satisfies.

because men could then no longer appreciate submission as a virtue, (no one dreams of being the butler for batman) they also could not appreciate the role of the feminine.
