Every group can be defined by the toxic behaviors it shares. The more isolated a group becomes, the more severe those toxic behaviors become and the more they are concealed from members. Getting to know people from different groups reveals our toxicity. The first time is painful.
this is why voice amplification through social media can be harmful. toxicity can transfer through text/images/video but getting to know another group doesn’t. no one knows that they’re hurting others.
