if u give a dog a treat first then expect it to be thankful and do the trick, u’ve reversed stimulus and response. dogs don’t have this kind of “rationality” that allows them to make inference across different timelines.

yet many so called “rats” refuse to acknowledge they have already been given the “treat” of life. they’re constantly looking for Something to Do in order to Get the Thing when really they should just proactively crawl into my mouth.
