w/ insulin resistance, the body is stuck in a state of constant energy storage. even if you eat a lot, ur constantly hungry b/c it's turning directly into fat. being skeletal lean and morbidly obese can BOTH be the same state of near-starvation that is brittle to future shock
if you are unable to produce insulin you have to avoid sugar because you cannot turn it into fat and it becomes toxic in the blood. if you always have high insulin, there's no way for your body to use sugar.
