this disconnection of Want from Like is the definition of addiction. to be compelled to do something that you don't even enjoy... you can't savor life if you're addicted to it.

the less happy u r the more you have to project into the future and thus are desperate for more and more of life. the perfectly happy have no motivation to plan b/c they are content to rest-in-peace at any moment.
