trying to reconcile "one reality" & "multiple truths": • there is one true Territory • there is no perfect Map • some maps are "less wrong" than others, but… • maps can be wrong in INCOMPARABLE ways • "multiple truths"=multiple MAPS, w/ none clearly "less wrong" than others
truth is a map thing so orthogonal to real. if plotted on a 2x2:
true & real: mapless map (intuition)
true & !real: broken map, bubble
!true & real: insanity, no map
!true & !map: null
this is why we can’t have good maps

yeah "true" might not be a helpful word trying to get at the idea that just because map A is "the best" along some dimension, doesn't mean that map B—which contradicts A—is necessarily "more wrong" than A (often A = some low-level science, B = some human-level intuition)
