there are 2 primary ways of getting old. vampire or zombie. vampires run from the past, drinking the fresh blood of the future long past their time. zombies retreat towards the past, desiring that which they had but now no longer have.
both are attitudes of immortality but the vampire has nightmares of the past while the zombie dreams of it. both stances rob the future from those who would normally inherit it because nature does not know how to integrate such immortality just as it cannot eat plastics. (yet?)
to find a zombie, look for the vampire haters. to find a vampire, look for the zombie haters. to find a hooman, look for the hooman haters.
