Cool thread! (wondering if you have any other existing thoughts on other variations of trust. e.g. "trusting yourself" or "trusting the universe" or "trusting the process")

I've read the paper, quite quality stuff. Some random thoughts 1. The author cites discussions on how important it is to trust your past intentions and memory. Imo, this is a bit simillar to how depressed people are more likely to strongly dissociate from themselves

But if you go through an earthquake, you will lose that trust. You will still rely on the ground, but you cant trust it as much E.g. if your a civilian, you trust that people wont try to kill you, nor will they die. However, if youre a war vetran, you lose that trust

IMO you can define trust as lack of anxiety so it doesn’t make sense to say “be less anxious to be less anxious”. Trusting yourself is just accepting yourself without judgement.

E.g. “Trust the universe” is kinda stupid since the universe is always going to kill you in the end. Reducing anxiety comes down not through willpower but active habit deprogramming over time. E.g. deprogramming the soldier interpreting eye twitches as death threats.
