An attitude of “I’ll get to the top and prove myself no matter what other people think of me.” is the motivation but see how it’s ALSO the main blocker? The motivation IS why you’re not making progress.

This applies to things beyond social hierarchies too. E.g. getting to the top of some personal goal like drawing or piano. Wanting to “prove” yourself (or a parent figure channeling this energy through you) almost always guarantees a cap on max potential

Truly believing in yourself requires that you are NOT convinced of yourself (which is self-aggrandizing since it implicitly implies the ability to predict/control the future) It’s similar to how courage requires fear by definition.
