Another trap is not viscerally feeling the sensation of LARP and just intellectualizing it. There is no way to consistently force this feeling however. It seems to me mostly up to the individual's choice.

A red flag is a sense of seriousness in the mind. A "I must!" or "Why can't I!" A green flag would be a very slight nudge. A "Huh...why was I taking all that so seriously."

another near enemy, and this feels specific to the post-millennial generation, is habitual LARPing. E.g. a life that is 99% LARP and non-serious most of the time deals with much suffering. However... try poking at the identity. See if they suddenly get REAL nasty...
