Atonement is just "Sorry, I wasn't listening." The more you reason and follow a chain of thoughts, the more projected you are into the future and the further you are from the present moment.

In a typical "Man not listening to Woman's emotion" situation, the man spends most of the time projecting visions of the future and applied solutions rather than actually listening by receiving the emotional energy. All energy is spent in parsing the verbal syntax.

Atonement isn't about a logical error indicating poor technical proficiency but about being able to justify why you left the present moment. Why wasn't it good enough for you? Can you do better? What was soooo important that you just *had* to think about it?

Reason is a means to solve a problem. The more reasoning that's being done, the more "bad" the current situation is deemed. Reason even has a numbing/coping effect. Reasons always whisper "this could be better"https://twitter.com/a_yawning_cat/status/1345976682809675776?s=20 …

🐈 @a_yawning_catThere's a quote "Reason is a whore." that sounds anti-science pro-ignorance. Though with a charitable interpretation you can say that by definition reason aims towards an outcome and so can never do sth. for its own sake. As a transitory action, it's incapable of actual love.Show this thread1 reply 0 retweets 1 likeShow this thread -
and that's true! if you think scientists stand on the shoulder of giants then you should see the giant thing the present moment stands on. it's called The Past & it's huuuge. the present moment is always supplying you with a way to make it better. for free!

So "life is suffering" to "that which reasons" because to reason tries to solve the suffering which is limitless. trying to drink the ocean gives you a tummy-ache.

What many Emissaries of the Moment want is a Hero who can reason when needed. While strength of reasoning *does* matter to some extent, it's not pure size that matters. It's the ability to sheath the reasoning when it's unnecessary.

However, "Mastery of Reasoning" is mis-interpreted. Longer and longer Swords of Reason that reach farrr and deep into the future are created. But what she meant by "Master" was the old warrior who has never drawn his sword in years despite his skill.

Just a true power requires no force, true mastery requires no demonstration.

The Moment tests you and punishes you with suffering because it just wants to know the answer to one question. "Can I trust in you to be with me when it matters? In great joy, and in great sorry? Or you will run and hide into your mind?"
