"Unlearning" as *the* skill of the future seems misinterpreted as "there will be so much to learn that you'll have to rapidly unlearn to avoid erroneous mental models & also make space for the new stuff."

Whereas I'd wager the actual skill to unlearn is the mental model creation skill itself along w/ it's counterparts of criticism, judgement, and analysis. that is... unlearning as a way to enjoy life, not some new way of ultra-fast learning with an ironic name.

The reason this makes economic sense as well is b/c it allows for creating actually useful products and experiences for people. A founder who doesn't enjoy life as a VC good boi is like a head chef who can't taste.

If you asked a friend to cut up some carrots and the only choices were to use the katana or the vitamix then I dunno, you wouldn't invite that friend to the next party or something. Being overly analytical or overly philosophical is similar.

There's a quote "Reason is a whore." that sounds anti-science pro-ignorance. Though with a charitable interpretation you can say that by definition reason aims towards an outcome and so can never do sth. for its own sake. As a transitory action, it's incapable of actual love.
