Since the fungal networks that make-up the Wood Wide Web have only recently become public knowledge I feel I must explain the phenomenon of toxoplasma gondii and felis catus as they operate via a similar mechanism.https://twitter.com/a_yawning_cat/status/1343313049516531712 …
Just like a fungal network can connect an entire forest to act as an emergent entity, the sub-divided felis catus entities similarly use toxoplasma gondii as a method of coordination across the world.

This illogical and potentially self-annihilating desire to face the unknown that can potentially swallow you is known colloquially as Curiosity.

While fungal networks in the wood wide web can communicate through direct chemical signaling, felis catus is spread far too widely for physical transmission. Toxoplasma gondii thus allows global communication through the centralized egregore hub of Curiosity using memetic means.

In the early 1990's the event that is known to us as "The Happening" occurred as the "Internet" gained wide spread adoption. Memetic information that previously could only be transmitted at relatively slow speeds suddenly gained orders of magnitude more velocity and volume.
