The Female Hero story is the feminine "stepping up" and taking on the hero role. There's an alchemical transition as the woman becomes Kingly. (These stories are common in periods of declining masculine energy.)

The purpose of clarifying these roles into: Male Hero, Male Heroine, Female Hero, Female Heroine is that it enables more sophisticated analysis of whether or not the situation needs more yin, or needs more yang.

E.g. a common problem in tech is too much yang sausage. But the solution of adding in Female Hero's only *adds* to the yang energy and makes things worse. Conflict can increase when the purpose was to decrease it.

It also allows masculine/feminine energy to have more opportunities of courage by seeing the possibility to be more flexible with their own energies. It allows *everyone* to have some part of the Magician archetype (which bends both yin & yang)
