What this implies is a state of consciousness where the fundamental ground of being is "I don't want to die. Yell at me, hit me, torture me. Make me FEEL." That is, ANY form of life, no matter how terrible, is preferable to the state of NO life. This fear of death.

This model leads to some interesting new ways of looking at world. One is that imperfect guru's can be understood. Alan Watts as an alcoholic, spiritual pride, spiritual fakeness, etc... "Cope" no longer has negative valence because Life as Cope is THE super cope of all copes.

It also points to the actually dangerous delusions. One would be pretending to have no cope, pretending to be perfect. Another is total capacity for self-delusion. "My morning, lunch, and evening cocktail of alcohol, MDMA, LSD, pot, psilocybin is (spiritually) HEALTHY!!"

To emphasize just what fear of death => love of life implies... it means groveling at the feet of the master for one more morsel. It feels distasteful yes? Especially for strongly individualistic cultures.

In order to make this more palpable to humans, a "Master" figure is invented. Someone so perfect that this humility before the master is considered a virtue. This figure, more of an idea really, is colloquially termed "God". Understanding God is similar to understanding Infinity

Neither actually "exists" in the "real world". They are concepts. But understanding God is necessary for certain actions just like understanding infinity is necessary to solve certain math problems!https://twitter.com/a_yawning_cat/status/1331918740556976130 …

To drive this home. Sense of self is ALSO a concept that doesn't exist in reality. "You" don't exist! So if "You" have a problem with "God" then I dunno, seems like that would leave you kinda knotted up huh? meow

Not necessary for sure lol. Most people are ignorant of their suffering, and so not even close to accepting it
