There are massive amounts of people in China who believe that privacy isn’t important, even many who come to the US and work for a few years or decades. The premise is that the benefits from centralized orthodox privilege vastly outweigh the benefits from individual thinking.

IMO collectively there’s suspicion of the youth(and by the youth themselves) that contrarian thoughts can’t possibly be good. (e.g. cultural revolution etc...) but something like easy payments w/ facial recognition and catching crazy gun/knife people is a tangible want.
