Academics don't realize that what makes you good in one domain can fragilize you in another. Your skill-set in bounded & closed classroom can be disastrous in the unbounded & open real world. It's why it's dangerous to leverage & optimize a domain space. There's a compliment.
IMO a lot of leverage isn’t done for its own sake but b/c of competition. Debt to keep up appearance. Rote education to produce soldiers to aim the artillery. Etc.. the fear of losing status or country force the signing of the devil’s bargain.
