equivalent was good taste/recognition in each. In perfect balance you get(top to bottom): Storyteller, Breadwinner/Leader, Spiritual Guide, Protector.
w/o balance you get the meme of only other 
being interested in muscles/sports-car/etc...Normally light is what "pierces" shadow and yin traditionally is drawn as black. However "shadow" in the Jungian sense seems to mean "opposite" more than "shadow". (It's just that when the discussion revolves around yang, then shadow/opposite become synonymous)
