Assorted thoughts: 1/ recreating trauma creates symmetry 2/ death is symmetrical to life 3/ death denial inhibits symmetry formation b/c u don't know where 'center' is. 4/ seeing immortality as beautiful implies subconscious belief in self as God
Hmm... valence as symmetry across time... Music as artificial interestingness also makes sense. Stories would be as well. They have beginnings and ending that allow us to fully appreciate the symmetry which can't be done with a life b/c death. https://qualiacomputing.com/2020/12/17/the-symmetry-theory-of-valence-2020-presentation/ …pic.twitter.com/EhQUZzXBSH

5/ seeing nothingness/boredom as beautiful implies belief in self as non-existent. 6/ the "now" moment is always symmetrical but the human interpretation of the moment as embedded in larger story arcs is *not*. 7/ life is suffering b/c you can never know where center is.
