Though I'd argue that similar to Taleb's style "grabbing you by the guts" there are benefits to various styles of writing even if they technically convey the same information when stripped down.

Thinking is habitual in the same way piano, juggling, sports are about compressing complex movements into habit. Repetition of the same simple movement is a necessary part of the process.
