What most people call "love" seems to be more a form of heavenly equanimity. It is simultaneously desired (since it is unconditional) but also not desired. (because it is it universally unconditional, thus stripping away 'specialness')
I omitted a significant amount of Freud's discussion of love, so I highly recommend consulting the original paper for more justification (it's not so long!).
