When you observe a beautiful, inner character trait of your partner, and share it with them, you are showing them that you see them, completely.
That your knowing them goes beyond the physical and emotional–and lives in the spiritual. 
Oooh interesting. That implies that something "ugly" points to something "missing", that *should* be there. It's not that something negative isn't "true" but that it's like pointing to someone in a wheelchair and going "haha you have no feet." It's not "true" "seeing".
